As a member of the blackfoot nation, my ancestors both fought and intermarried with the anglos. There were wars, there were camps and reservations where we were forced to live and learn anglo culture and language. But we were also co-dependant. There are many stories of the "white devils" aiding the tribes in times of need. Stories of compassion. There are two sides to every story. Today almost a third of the anglos in the US have a shared native american ancestry. We have our own land, our own laws, and our own businesses and renewed interest in our culture these days, and are just as american as anyone else.

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

Great article !

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

The US can't beat the Taliban? See, the taliban nowadays seem more and more to be a popular, peasant-based movement. Western or western-influenced journalists don't see that because of their blindness ro the world's realities. Look at the majority of the Taliban fighters. Which social classes do they come from? If one reads between the lines of serious reports, one can't fail to note that most are youngsters from poor peasant stock, in other words the majority of the country's people. Mao used to ask "who makes history?". His answer was "the people". And people's struggles are invincible!

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

The US will fail primarily because Karzai is a corrupt crook and the US only realized this too late. The US had the opportunity to win in Afghanistan when they threw out the Taliban in 2001, then Bush decided to go off and finish daddy's war in Iraq while Afghanistan rotted and the Taliban crawled back. With the botched 2009 elections, there was no chance to rally the country behind a central government, the mayor of Kabul showed himself a corrupt leader which Afghans have no desire for.

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

Yeah country of lions with abysmal life expectancy, piss poor literacy rates, and a terrible quality of life index. On the topic, it is important to be aware of changing times and culture in people ,especially americans with their currently aquired liberalism and warped concept of democracy ! My assesment of the non existant MORAL code is 0 in america , dilution being prime culprit ! Lastly, if ww2 were fought by todays u.s. miletary, the germans would have won ,hands down ! Maybe that would be desireable in terms of what we have transpired into ,drugs, homo, lesb, africans, illegals, criminals etc.

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

The american miletary gets an annual budget of over five hundred billion $ , There are approx. 300 + u.s. bases around the world, The american economey is driven basicly by miletary wages and support expenses, far too many americans and immigrants enter the u.s. miletary for a livelyhood for life , The stealth enemy from within is not recognized,

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

Afganistan will never be concured by currrent american miletary forces ! These American forces remain embedded within the Ethiopian military, making Washington directly and intimately responsible for the bloodbath.

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

stay on the topic of the war not the issue of lesbianism. It's obvious you are an american

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

When was that? As far as I know, the US portrayed the "pilots" as Saudis. Therefore the natural course of action would be invade Saudi Arabia, right?
And there is something else, the 9/11 first responders suffer from a range of different illnesses, some of which are rare in the general population. Some of the illnesses can be attributed to the high pH of the WTC dust.Dr. Cate Jenkins wrote that "The very high pH of the dust inhaled by 9/11 first responders is a probable cause for the general deterioration of lungs and their function, due to the dust’s corrosive state". Commonly observed conditions among first responders include: sinusitis and laryngitis; and lower respiratory disorders such as asthma, eosinophilic pneumonia, granulomatous pneumonitis, bronchial obliterans. All of the 1first responders had "high level" of "aluminum oxide" in their lungs. Aluminum oxide – a potential cause of the observed pulmonary fibrosis – is a product of the thermite reaction. Thermite has been used to develop patented devices for the demolition of structures.
In 2010, researchers reported the presence of carbon nanotubes in the lungs of WTC first responders.
And there's more, and it's called "The Caspian Basin" - the world's second largest oil reserves are in Turkmenistan - estimated to be worth more than US$5 trillion
And last, but not least in October 2001, the Taliban offered to surrender bin Laden and the US refused. So it was never about bringing nobody to justice. Between Bin Laden and the Caspian oil, the US decide for the latter. After all almost 3.000 innocent Americans were murdered for that purpose only!

Re: Failing in Afghanistan, discreetly - Opinion - Al Jazeera English

But, my dear friends, technological warfare means manufacturing of weapons, and this means juicy sales contracts. They want to kill because of their deranged hunger for revenge. They want to toss all their forces around the world to show up to every human being their power and will to horrify the rest. Me and my seven children are also victims of US contempt. We've been living in USA for few years, next father of my children escaped from America to land in New Zealand with Afghanistan citizenship. We were forced to leave US, because we are Poles - but father of my children is unknown whereabouts (however we know about his job in Bahrain - as an architect, but children have no support from him).
